Last week I was participating in a challenge on Facebook to use the Mothership I Subliminal palette. It’s a great idea! Not only do I have encouragement to experiment, I can also be inspired by other Pat McGrath Labs enthusiasts.
For all of them, the base is Pat McGrath Labs Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Primer, Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Foundation in Medium 19 and Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Setting Powder in Medium 3, otherwise known as Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection The System.
Whenever I’ve used an eyeshadow wet, I’ve dampened my brush with Mehron Mixing Liquid and the mascara is always Pat McGrath Labs FetishEyes Mascara.
Here are the looks I managed to do:
Look 1
I used Lilac Dusk wet on the eyelid then when that had dried, I swept VR Violet over the top using my finger. I used Substance in the crease and Pale Gold 002 on the inner corner with Skinshow nude as a brow and cheek highlighter. I finished the eye look with Blitz Blue PermaGel Ultra Glide Eye Pencil on the lower waterline and under the lower lashline.
To finish the rest of my face I used MatteTrance Lipstick in Omi on the lips and as a blusher with Bronze Astral Vinyl Gloss from the Liquilust 007 on the lips and NARS brow pencil.
Look 2
Lilac Dusk was so pretty I used it again, this time wet then dry over the top to really intensify the colour with Depth on the crease and under the lower lashline. I think I also used Depth for my brows with Benefit Gimme Brow. I used BLK Coffee PermaGel Ultra Glide Eye Pencil on the lower waterline and Skinshow Nude on the inner corner, which I also used for my cheek highlight. To finish my eyes I used the Perma Precision Liquid Liner as topliner.
Pink Ultraness LuxeTrance Lipstick was my cheek and lip colour.
Look 3
My third look was suggested by and voted for by the Facebook group and I’m so glad they did. I looked and felt amazing! I was thinking about Astral White over Pale Gold or Blitz Blue. Anyway, the look was ultra-cool-toned so now I’ve had to make a cool toned wishlist ready for when my beauty no-buy is over!
I used Xtreme Black wet on the lid then dry on the lid and blended it up to the crease. I then swiped Astral White over the lid and a tiny bit on the lower inner corner and placed Blitz Blue in the upper inner corner. I used Xtreme Black PermaGel Ultra Glide Eye Pencil on the lower waterline and smudged it under the lower lashline. For my brows I used Depth and Benefit 24hr Brow Setter. Once again I used Skinshow Nude as my brow highlighter.
I actually struggled with the rest of my face – I really need some cheek colours Pat McGrath – please!
I tried out several cheek highlight options: Astral White pigment, Astral Blue Star Chromaluxe Hi-Lite Cream and Iridescent Pink 003. I used Madame Greige LuxeTrance Lipstick on my lips and cheeks but decided it was too cool and pale for my cheeks so I went over that with Bronze Nectar 003 pigment from the Sublime Skin Highlighter Trio. For my nose highlight I used Iridescent Pink 003 and I contoured my cheeks with Skin Fetish: Sublime Perfection Setting Powder in Medium Deep 4.
I decided that I needed more so I added my Clear Vinyl Gloss from the Lust 004 Kit to my lips.
I didn’t get around to another look by the end of the week but I have so many more ideas now! I am now in love with the Pat McGrath Labs Mothership I Subliminal Palette which you can get from patmcgrath.com or Selfridges. Which is your favourite look?
